BROKEN ARROW (1950) - VHS
Starring:
James Stewart, Jeff Chandler
Considered a landmark film due the sympathetic manner in which Native Americans
are portrayed -- almost unheard of in 1950. In the opinion of this
writer, Jeff Chandler's depiction of Cochise is still the one to beat.

GERONIMO, AN AMERICAN LEGEND (1993) -
VHS
Starring:
Jason Patric, Gene Hackman
Historically inaccurate as this film is in many ways, it nevertheless presents
the plight of the Arizona Apaches in the years following Cochise's death
in very credible way. Wes Studi is a compelling figure and as Geronimo
he conveys the desperation of his people starkly -- but as far as being
true to Geronimo as a real person, the mark is missed yet again.
