SIDE OF THE DRAGOON MOUNTAINS.  SOME VERY
STRIKING ROCK ART EXISTS HERE, SOME OF IT
APACHE, SOME OF IT PREHISTORIC (photo below).

THIS VIEW OF "ROCKFELLOW DOME" MARKS THE ENTRANCE
TO THE EAST STRONGHOLD AREA.  COCHISE AND HIS BAND
MADE THIS THEIR HOME HERE IN THE "RESERVATION 
YEARS", 1872-1876.  MERCIFUULY, COCHISE DID NOT LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO SEE HIS RESERVATION DISSOLVED BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT.

SUNSET GIVES A ROSEY BLUSH TO THE RUGGED
WESTERN SLOPES OF THE DRAGOON MOUNTAINS.
MIDDLEMARCH PASS, WHERE GENERAL HOWARD'S
PARTY CROSSED FROM SULPHUR SPRINGS VALLEY,
IS TO THE EXTREME RIGHT OF THIS SHOT, JUST OUT OF VIEW.

MILES OF LUSH GRASSLANDS AND LIVE OAKS
STRETCH OUT TOWARD THE SAN PEDRO VALLEY,
ALONG ON THE WESTERN SIDE OF THE
DRAGOONS.
